Sight Word Worksheets

Here are the worksheets I created for my son to learn sight words.  I'll update it as I add more.

View and print HERE.

Here's an example.
Trace the word, write the word, circle the word, color the word, write it in letter boxes, and underline it in a sentence.

Zoo Scavenger Hunt

I bring my son to the zoo about once per month because he absolutely loves it and we have a membership so it doesn't cost a lot of money (he gets in free because he's under 3 so I just have a single membership).  I decided to make things interesting this time and make it into a scavenger hunt.  I printed up a page of animal pictures, laminated it, punched a hole in it, and put in on a lanyard.  As we went through the zoo he would "circle" the animals as we saw them.  He LOVED it!  A few people wanted to see what he was up to and asked to see his stickers (I don't know why, but everybody thought they were stickers).  By mid-day my super shy son was walking up to random people showing him his list like Wayne and Garth in Wayne's World.

You can print it here.

I think he had a good time...

Lyrics: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean

My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
My Bonnie lies over the sea.
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me.
Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

The winds will blow over the ocean,
The winds will blow over the sea.
The winds will blow over the ocean,
To bring back my Bonnie to me.

Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me.
Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

Bring back, bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

Lyrics: My Hat, It Has Three Corners

My hat, it has three corners,
Three corners has my hat.
And had it not three corners,
It would not be my hat.

____ hat, it has three corners,
Three corners has ____ hat.
And had it not three corners,
It would not be ____ hat.

____ ____, it has three corners,
Three corners has ____ ____.
And had it not three corners,
It would not be ____ ____.

____ ____, it has ____ corners,
____ corners has ____ ____.
And had it not ____ corners,
It would not be ____ ____.

____ ____, it has ____ ____,
____ ____ has ____ ____.
And had it not ____ ____,
It would not be ____ ____.

Lyrics: Mulberry Bush

Here we go 'round the mulberry bush,
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.
Here we go 'round the mulberry bush,
So early in the morning.

This is the way we wash our clothes,
Wash our clothes, wash our clothes.
This is the way we wash our clothes,
So early Monday morning.

This is the way we iron our clothes,
Iron our clothes, iron our clothes.
This is the way we iron our clothes,
So early Tuesday morning.

This is the way we mend our clothes,
Mend our clothes, mend our clothes.
This is the way we mend our clothes,
So early Wednesday morning.

This is the way we sweep the floor,
Sweep the floor, sweep the floor.
This is the way we sweep the floor,
So early Thursday morning.

This is the way we scrub the floor,
Scrub the floor, scrub the floor.
This is the way we scrub the floor,
So early Friday morning.

This is the way we bake our bread,
Bake our bread, bake our bread.
This is the way we  bake our bread,
So early Saturday morning.

This is the way we go to church,
Go to church, go to church.
This is the way we go to church,
So early Sunday morning.

Lyrics: The Muffin Man

Oh, do you know the muffin man,
The muffin man, the muffin man?
Oh do you know the muffin man,
He lives on Drury Lane?

Oh, yes I know the muffin man,
The muffin man, the muffin man.
Oh, yes I know the muffin man,
He lives on Drury Lane.

Lyrics: The More We Get Together

The more we get together, together, together,
The more we get together, the happier we'll be.
'Cause your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends,
The more we get together the happier we'll be.

Lyrics: Mr. Sun

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me.

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind the trees;
These little children are asking you,
To please come out so we can play with you.

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me.

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind the trees;
These little children are asking you,
To please come out so we can play with you.

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on, please shine down on,
Please shine down on me!!

Lyrics: Michael Finnegan

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan.
He had whiskers on his chinnegan.
They grew out and then grew in again.
Poor old Michael Finnegan.
Begin again.

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan.
He went fishing with a pinnegan.
Caught a fish and dropped it in again.
Poor old Michael Finnegan.
Begin again.

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan.
He grew fat and then grew thin again.
Then he died and had to begin again.
Poor old Michael Finnegan.
Begin again.

Lyrics: Mary Had a Little Lamb

Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb.
Mary had a little lamb,
It's fleece was white as snow.

Everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.

It followed her to school one day,
School one day, school one day.
It followed her to school one day,
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play.
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.

And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out.
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near.

And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about.
And waited patiently about,
Till Mary did appear.

"Why does the lamb love Mary so?
Love Mary so, Love mary so?
Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry.

"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,
Loves the lamb, you know; loves the lamb, you know.
Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,"
The teacher did reply.
